VA has Released Burn Pit Registry Data
VA established the Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry (AHOBPR) in 2014 with the goal of collecting data on those who were exposed to burn pits.
The PACT Act section 808(b)(2) states that the Secretary of VA must make the findings of the Burn Pit Registry public knowledge. The current Burn Pit Registry list has been published to the public in order to share what has been collected thus far. Publishing of the registry fulfills the requirements of the PACT Act but, it also encourages other Veterans to register. This registry includes breakouts of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, (Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, United States Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands). The data collected will be updated to this public page biannually.
See the current list of Veterans who have already participated in the registry.
Join the Registry
Veterans are encouraged to join the Burn Pit Registry if they were exposed to hazardous burn pits. When a Veteran registers they can aid in research for the long term effects of burn pit exposure. This registry also allows VA to understand the locations and time periods of when and where the burn pits were located.
Veterans who were exposed and are not yet showing symptoms are encouraged to sign up as well. At the end of the day this program is for Veterans to help other Veterans get the care that they need with the research that will come of this program.
